Description

This workshop is an initiative of DG INFSO, European Commission and will be held March 17, 2010. It aims to encourage the sharing of good practice in the area of efficient and effective eGovernment. In particular, the workshop will take stock of eGovernment good practices related to Measurement – how Member States, Regions and public administrations in general measure their performance (back office) and/or the impact and user satisfaction of the eGovernment services. Ultimately, this workshop will aim to share good practice initiatives, knowledge and experiences on the field as a means of accelerating the uptake of eGovernment services and improving both policy-making and research.

Areas of interest include:

  • Case studies: Reports on tangible results of efficiency gains in eGovernment.
  • Towards 2015: Efficiency and effectiveness to reduce the administrative burden; improve organisational processes; promote a sustainable low-carbon economy (Ref. Ministerial Declaration on eGovernment of 18 Nov 2009, Malmö, Sweden).
  • Increasing public engagement as a means to increase effectiveness.
  • Benchmarking efficiency improvement: methods to objectively measure the efficiency gains of eGovernment policies and implementations.
  • Potential of a single structure for the delivery of social assistance services (child support, unemployment, disability benefit, pensions).
  • Peer-to-peer benchlearning--learning from each other's activities and effort.

Important deadlines to remember:

  • Abstract submission by March 11
  • Presentation submission by March 15

Action research, case studies, research-in-progress, and pilot programs are welcome approaches. Proposals for roundtable discussions, practitioner contributions, and product demonstrations are also invited.

Interested participants may register here. Speakers are kindly invited to download and complete the workshop form that can be found below in the 'presentation and documents' section and submit to events@eurodyn.com

We are looking forward to seeing you there!
